lastbutnotleast replied to your post: Sure, they treated Mickey like the tin dog. But he was a pretty stand up guy, there with a tow-truck and a hand when it was needed. IIRC, less jealous than Rory (though he should’a been). He was cool about time travel & aliens. Race aside, how many dudes were there anywhere who could understand what it was like travelling with the doctor? Even Sarah Jane couldn’t fully chill out and she had a kid. Martha’s the Catherine Parr of Doctor Who; she actually survived it. Now Amy Pond? That’s sick
How many people do you see with stamped-up passports married to people who’ve never left their state? That’s the pediatrician. Have you seen her w/UNIT or on Torchwood? She found adventure without the Doctor (and probaly less haphazard danger).
LOL what? Is that a thing? People only marrying people who’ve traveled as much as them? I’m so glad I never date. People are apparently jerks.
Anyway, sorry, no, you’re never going to convince me that “but her fiance had never been to outer space” is sufficient to get a character from point “I’ve had all the time travel adventures I need, too much destruction and death, I want to spend some time with my family and friends and fiance now” to point “Oh, hey, I quit UNIT and became a freelance alien fighter with Mickey, who I also married, what a coincidence, considering he is the only other character of color on this show!”
